Anime Quality Nanatsu no Taizai

The manga series The Seven Deadly Sins does continue to show solid consistency, especially with its anime adaptations that are still running side by side. After broadcasting the second season which received much praise from fans thanks to the quality and solid story pacing, the anticipated continuation of the third season was finally officially aired.

Fans’ concerns about moving the project, which is currently held by Studio Deen, turned out to be worse than predicted because the third season for The Seven Deadly Sins this time was disappointing. We’re not only talking about story pacing that isn’t smooth and the execution of moments that don’t fit, but also about the animation quality which is very poor and inconsistent. The peak itself can be seen in the latest episode which features an epic battle between Escanor and Meliodas.

Different from the manga which displays the battle in a cool, dramatic, and full of detail, the anime adaptation makes the battle look like a fan-made animation that seems amateurish. None of the frames look good and the character movement is also very stiff, which automatically makes fans very disappointed. The review statistics for the third season on the MyAnimeList website also dropped dramatically at a score of 6.64, much lower than the first season at 8.15 and the second season at 8.18.

It’s a pity because the battle between Escanor vs Meliodas is one of the most anticipated moments for fans to see in the anime, but the studio presents it in the worst animation quality imaginable. So what do you think of the third season of The Seven Deadly Sins? Are you also disappointed or do you like it?
