Anime Review: Bright: Samurai Soul (2021). Through its official channel, Netflix has shown the latest Promotional Video for the Anime entitled Bright: Samurai Soul. In addition, they have also revealed the lineup of voice actors who will be present in this anime.

He said Bright: Samurai Soul is a spin-off anime based on the 2017 Live-Action film Bright, starring Will Smith, and Joel Edgerton.

At the fall of the Shogunate era and the rise of the Meiji era, a bright and powerful light emanated from the scepter signaling that the long shogunate period was over.

Then, to avoid further bloodshed, Japan began to shift to a new era. Amid this situation, a one-eyed Ronin named Izou appears, he loses his reason to live. Meanwhile, there is an Orc Raiden who leaves his old life and meets an Elf girl named Sonya.

Together they set out on a journey to deliver the glowing wand to the land of the Elves in the north. But unfortunately, their journey is not smooth, because there is a mysterious organization Inferni who wants the wand.

The story is set between the fall of the Shogunate and the rise of the Meiji era.

The strong bright light emitted from the wand ended the long period of the Shogunate.

It also avoided further bloodshed as Japan began to shift into a new era.

Amid these circumstances, a one-eyed wandering ronin and an orc meet a young elven girl named Sonya.

The samurai ronin named You, who had lost his reason to live.

Meanwhile, an orc hates killing and hopes to leave the life of a thief named Raiden.

Together, they travel along Tokaido to protect the staff he is holding safely and take him to the fairylands to the north.

Standing in their way, the mysterious organization Inferni, whose aim is to obtain the wand and bring the Dark Lord back to life.

Inferni also uses the new Meiji government in an attempt to steal the wands from You, Raiden, and Sonya.

Studio Direct will animate the film Bright: Samurai Soul. Kyohei Ishiguro (Occultic; Nine, Children of the Whales) is directing, with Yokote Michiko (Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin) writing the script. Atsushi Yamagata (Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Genocyber) is designing the characters.

Theatrical actor Yuki Nomura made his voice acting debut as Izo, while Daisuke Hirakawa became Raiden and Shion Wakayama became Sonya. For the English dub, Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu will play Izo, Fred Mancuso will play Raiden, and Yuzu Harada will play Sonya.
