Yuru Camp

Review Yuru Camp

It’s just finished, the anime doesn’t feel like it. Indeed, in winter 2021, I have watched a lot of good anime, SNK, Jujutsu, Mashoku Tensei, etc. But Yuru Camp for me is de bestūüéČ. I like anime with the smell of girl groups. Apart from that, it is none other than Yuru Camp’s slice of life, which they still maintain calm, calm until this season 2. Every drama, story, and how they are done still maintain their characteristic, which is a slow mellow story with comedy breaks in each eps.

Character

For the story in the second season, the arrival of two new characters in the Yuru Camp anime and also many old characters from the previous season, who only got a few lines in the story, will be told more in this second season. The new characters are Rin’s grandfather, Hajime Shinshiro, and Nadeshiko’s childhood friend, Ayano Toki. For me, the addition of these two characters is good enough to be told in this anime. Every characteristic of these two characters is indeed suitable as a supporting character. Calm, charismatic, calm traits that are in this new character that adds color to the story of this anime. I’m also attracted by one of the new characters, Ayano Toki. Her nature is almost the same as Rin who is calm and slow, but Ayano is arguably the type who is more limp and lazy (but not negative) in terms of movement. And also Ayano likes motorbikes just like Rin, the difference is that Ayano uses a motorbike, while Rin uses a scooter.

There is also additional showtime for the characters who previously had only a few broadcasts in season one, such as our beautiful sensei Minami Toba and her sister Inuyama, Akari Inuyama or commonly called Inuko. The addition of these two support characters into the main group also adds a new color and even more funny comedies. Besides them, there are also the characters of Rin and Nadeshiko’s parents and Nadeshiko’s sister who got the spotlight this season. And besides that, in this season we can also find out why Rin-chan started his solo camp, why. And the story is fun too.

Visuals and Sound

For the background graphics of this anime, there is no doubt that it is questioned and disputed again in my opinion. Backgrounds that are made with models based on natural scenery that do exist and are real, can be transferred in the form of animation and can even be considered better than the original. By drawing with a digital oil painting style (maybe they don’t know how they drew it), or maybe directly converting the original photo into an anime-style oil painting, but most importantly, their scenery is pleasing to the eye. Even so, yesterday there was an error that really shouldn’t be made, namely the google image problem. Where you can see in one of the scenes there is still an image by Google written on it. Even though it’s a small mistake to forget to delete or edit, but if you want to talk about the world of professionalism in making works (anime), it shouldn’t happen. Then for the character design, nothing has changed for the S1 and S2 and the style of drawing is also the same.

Apart from the background scenery in the anime, one more thing that I like and the advantage of Yuru camp is their bgm and theme song. Wow…. really, how is it that it was made very suitable for the anime. The style of the acoustic guitar is relaxed and fun, very supportive for every scene. The opening of a fun anime from Asaka Seize the Day can be a mood booster to watch this anime. It ends with a slow ending song, from Eri Sasaki, Haru no Tonari, making us even more unwilling to be separated from this anime.

Enjoy the natural scenery again

For those of you who have watched the Yuru Camp series in the first season, it is certainly not strange that this anime belongs to the Iyashikei type. The Iyashikei genre itself is one of the sub-genres of Slice Of Life. The main point of the Iyashikei anime is how the nuances presented can provide calm, tranquility, and peace to the audience.

This also applies to the second season of Yuru Camp. we can see in several episodes always provide a new place for camp. It can provide more knowledge for spectators who want to try camping. Please note that the locations presented here are based on real places. Therefore, if you intend to camp there, Yuru Camp can be a reference.

Focus on the camping experience

At first glance, you might see this anime as cute girls doing cute things. However, as mentioned above, this anime is more focused on the nuances given and also various useful tutorials. This is further strengthened in the second season of Yuru Camp.

We can see that in several episodes, Nadeshiko and their friends always have problems when they go camping. Even when there is a camping expedition there is always the unexpected. This is like showing the audience how the experience and obstacles that often occur for beginners.

This can be seen in the first episode of Yuru Camp season two. When Rin was going to camp, he made a mistake. Despite experiencing various obstacles, Rin still managed to camp. That part was recorded by Rin so as not to let the same incident happen again.

Character development is quite fast

In the first season, we already know that the main character, Nadeshiko is a beginner at camping. Among the members of the Outdoor Activities Club, only Rin was the most experienced.

However, in the second season, the development of Nadeshiko’s character was so rapid. Nadeshiko has been able to make preparations before camping, make tents, food, and also various other things around the camp. Nadeshiko is more suitable for group camping. However, he has the desire to go solo camping.

The second season of Yuru Camp also focuses more on the members of the Outdoor Activities Club. Several other characters also get screen time, such as Chiaki Oogaki, Aoi Inuyama, and Ena Saitou. There is even one episode that focuses on these three in comparison to Nadeshiko and Rin. This is certainly more interesting.

Conclusion
Yuru Camp are some of the Iyashikei anime series that you need to watch. Even if you don’t like moe characters, information about camping spots and various camp tutorials can be a consideration.
