The novel originally appeared online in 2013 via the Shosetsuka ni Naro website before being published by Micro Magazine in 2014. The manga version of the novel was released in 2018 for its first season and continues into the second season in January 2021.

This anime tells the story of the journey of Satoru Mikami, an office employee in general who lives in Tokyo. Her ordinary life changes when she is badly injured by an attack by an unknown person which causes her to lose consciousness.
After regaining consciousness, Satoru realized he had reincarnated into a slime! Her life becomes very complicated because not only does she change, she no longer lives in Tokyo but a new world that she completely doesn’t recognize.

In his new life, he also acquired unexpected superhuman abilities and changed his name to Rimuru Tempest In its second season, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will tell the continuation of Rimuru Tempest’s adventures in a new world. Rimuru will fight to solve the mystery about the destruction of the city he has built with the monsters, his new friends in another world.
